New this year! KSOC will be hosting the Warren Miller Film at the Bijou Theatre on November 6, 2014. We would love to kick off this wonderful event to benefit our chosen charity, the East Tennessee Children's Hospital, by having our members enjoy donating items for the Silent Auction. All proceeds from this auction go to our chosen charity (KSOC keeps no money). Make these items interesting and something people would like to buy. Bring these items with you to the meeting, and you can have a receipt for your declared value as an IRS donation. Keep in mind all items will be available to the general public the night of the event (consider appropriateness). The KSOC Board will reserve the right to reject items that may be "too fun" outside a private audience.

A housekeeping item for all.     Attendees are to be current KSOC paid members or join as new members in order to enjoy all the meal goodies and beverages provided. It would be great if you could bring a new member. Membership renewal begins August 1 for 2014-2015, and as always, you are required to be a member to participate on a Distant Trip. The KSOC website has been enhanced to make your membership renewal easier. It is encouraged you use the website to renew by August 20, then Bill (our Membership Chair) could have your membership cards ready at the door on the 22nd at the yacht club!

Think snow - see you all on August 22!

Checklist: 1) Assigned meal goodie, 2) donated item for the Silent Auction, 3) membership renewed, and 4) be ready for a good time.
