Molly Branch is a creek that runs through the plains at the base of House Mountain. It has been a habitat for synchronous fireflies for decades. The property along Molly Branch is privately owned and it's been closed off to the public until recent years, when owners decided that the display should be shared with the public. Unlike the Smokies Elkmont event, parking is in easy walking distance, there is no lottery, and $10 tickets are first-come-first served, visit https://mollybranchfireflies.com/ . Please buy your tickets there— the club is not selling them. They have rain check dates in case of bad weather. Look for us under the KSOC banner. We thought the display was even better than Elkmont on our last visit. June 10 is a new moon, which should provide dark viewing conditions.
